Born From a Love of the Coast and the Craft
Harbor & Hearth began in a small Brighton workshop in 2014 with a simple belief: that the best interiors feel as honest and enduring as the sea itself.
From a Brighton Workshop to a Studio With a Reputation
Harbor & Hearth was founded by Eleanor Marsh in 2014 after a decade working across London's high-end residential sector. Eleanor grew up near the Sussex coast and always felt that the interiors world was missing something — warmth. Authenticity. The feeling that a room had been made by human hands, for human lives.
She returned to Brighton and set up a small studio on the seafront, commissioning local craftsmen, sourcing natural materials, and designing spaces that prioritised how they felt over how they looked in a magazine. Word spread quickly.
Today, Harbor & Hearth is a team of eight designers, craftspeople, and curators — delivering full interior transformations, bespoke furniture commissions, and hospitality design projects across the UK and beyond.

Our Values
The principles that guide every decision we make — from the materials we select to the way we work with clients.
Every space we design should feel like an embrace — comfortable, genuine, and welcoming to the people who inhabit it every day.
We believe in things made by hand, made to last. Every piece we select or commission carries the mark of skilled human making.
We design for the long view — spaces that look as beautiful in fifteen years as they do on the day of reveal. Trends are not our compass.
Natural materials, responsible sourcing, and long-lasting design are not a marketing statement for us — they are a fundamental way of working.
The People Behind
the Spaces
A small, talented team of designers, craftspeople, and curators — each bringing a deep love of coastal design and artisan making.
With 18 years across residential and hospitality design, Eleanor leads the creative vision of the studio with a deep commitment to natural materials and coastal warmth.
Oliver specialises in spatial planning and hospitality environments, having designed interiors for boutique hotels and restaurants across Sussex and London.
Maya sources and commissions our furniture pieces from artisan workshops across the UK, Scandinavia, and Portugal — always seeking the handmade and the honest.
